The Driftwood Dash is adding a paddle event!
Participants will have the option of participating in the 5k Fun Run/Walk, a 5K Man-Powered Paddle on Lake Tapps, or the 10K dual event.

Event Options:

1/2K Kid's Dash - Free!
5K Fun Run/Walk - $25
5K Paddle Event - $25
10K Dual Run & Paddle - $45

9:30 AM 5K Run/Walk & Paddle Begin*
*Dual Event participants will run first, then transition to the paddle portion.

Paddle event participants can use paddle boards, kayaks, canoes or other similarly man-powered vessels. Paddlers will start from shoreline located within the park and are required to wear a coast guard approved PDF and carry a whistle per WA State law.

Paddle Board Rental from Dolan's Board Sports
Do you want to participate in the paddle event but don't have a paddle board?
Dolan's Board Sports will be on-site with a board for you!

Availability is limited and boards must be booked in advance.

Event Q & A

Q: Is this a family friendly event?
A: Yes! Strollers, kids and families are welcome. This is NOT a closed course though, so it's important to keep an eye on your family as you participate

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Yes! Just be sure to scoop the poop.

Q: What do I do with my kiddos?
A: The kid's dash is a VERY short mini-dash that will take place before the bigger events start. Kids will receive a medal and a snack, which will hopefully keep them happy as they do the 5K walk/run or paddle with you. The park also has a great play area if you are able to bring a babysitter to supervise your kiddos while you get your dash and/or paddle on! Just remember that the Dash is NOT a closed course and there were be a few cars passing by along the way.

Q: What is the day going to be like?
A: When you arrive you will sign-in or register for your event. At this time you will sign your event waiver. After that, you'll hangout while you wait for your event to start. Those who are participating in the paddle will take their vessel to the staging area AFTER sign-in/registration. We will announce when and where you should be throughout the event.

Q: Where to I put my paddle board, kayak or canoe for the paddle event?
A: We will have a staging area for paddle participants. You will start from the shore of the park. You are responsible for lifting and moving your vessel from your vehicle to the staging location in the park.

Q: Will I get a t-shirt?
A: Everyone who registers before April 13th will receive a cotton event t-shirt. You can pay an extra $10 at registration to get a dri-fit event shirt instead of a cotton shirt. Later registration participants can pick-up their t-shirt after they finish their event.

Q: When will I sign my liability release waiver?
A: You will sign the waiver when you pick-up your registration packet the day of the race.
